L'Amoreaux C.I hosted the Grade 7-8 Competiton on November 18, 2008. Though it was a small competition with only 4 schools, the excitement and screams coming from the gymnasium were just as loud. John Buchanan and Terry Fox were not only competing in the FIA competition, they were also competing for their loudest chants. Between "Let's go Buchanan Let's GO!" and "We will we will ROCK YOU!", the gym was rumbling.

Kevin Do, a Banting & Best competitor said that "the excitement is the best part of this competition. It was Banting & Best first time at a FIA competition and they were able to show everyone just how good they were as they earned 1st place, finishing with 792 points. 2nd place went to Terry Fox with 776 points and 3rd and 4th place went to John Buchanan and Our Lady of Grace with 758 points and 702 points respectively.
