Victoria Park C.I held the Grade 7/8 Competition on December 12, 2008. Just about 120 students representing 4 local schools came out to compete at this Fun In Athletics Competition. The final standings for the day on the boys side was Maryvale taking first place with 408 points. Following the winners was Wexford with 378 points and the boys’ teams from Donview and Buchanan came 3rd and 4th respectively with 370 points and 358 points.
On the girls' side of the competition there was a tie for first place between Maryvale and Wexford as they both earned 392 points each. Coming in behind these teams for second place was Donview with 378 points followed by Buchanan’s girls’ team with 352 points. Combined team scores put Maryvale into first place, Wexford into second, Donview coming third and Buchanan in fourth. The top three teams in this competition will advance to the East York Finals taking place on February 27, 2009 at Victoria Park C.I.
