East York C.I was the host school for the first two Fun In Athletics Competitions for 2009. On January 14, 2009 six active schools of the George Webster Cluster competed against one another in the Grade 4-5 FIA Competition. Final Standings of this Cluster Competition was George Webster taking first place, followed by Warden Avenue in second place and Morse Street in third place. Coming in a close fourth place was Grenoble, followed by Crescent Town in fifth and Thorncliffe Park in sixth. All of the schools were well represented and it was a great competition to start the year off.
On January 15, 2008 East York C.I. hosted a smaller competition with three schools of grade 6-8 teams participating in the Fun In Athletics Competition. First place in this competition went to Cosburn Middle School with a team score of 824 points. Second place went to DA Morrison with a combined score of 778 points and Earl Beatty finished third place with 750 points. All three of these schools will move on to the East York Finals taking place at Victoria Park on February 27, 2009.
