The IFTA’s Fun In Athletics competitions have been underway since early November and have been better than ever this year. Starting the fun off in the Durham Region, Ajax High School graciously hosted our first double competition with the Junior Teams competing in the morning half of the day and then our Senior Teams battling it out in the afternoon on November 17, 2009. The Durham competition was a full one with 6 teams in both the morning and afternoon traveling from all ends of the Durham area. The results of this competition were as follows:

The next FIA Competition took place at L’Amoreaux C.I on November 19, 2009. The Junior Competition comprised of 4 strong teams while the Senior Competition only had 3 teams competing. None the less, both competitions were exciting and fierce and it was anyone’s take right until the end. The results of these competitions were:

Moving towards the West, a FIA Competition was held at Victoria Park C.I on November 26, 2009. The Junior competition only had 3 teams competing, but they made it sound like it was a full 6 team competition. The results of these competitions were:

Moving more West, the last FIA Competition for 2009 was held at Westview Centennial SS on December 9, 2009. On this day, the winter weather tried to hold our teams back but failed! All of our teams trucked through the winter conditions and arrived cold and wet, but ready to have fun. We had 4 great teams in the Junior Competition and due to unexpected cancellations only 2 dedicated Senior teams came out to compete. The results were:

All FIA Competitions that have been held across the GTA have been outstanding for the 2009-2010 thus far. Winners of all the Senior Competitions have qualified to compete in the IFTA Championship taking place in March 2010. Please check back in the New Year for details regarding the Championship. There are 2 FIA Regional competitions left which will be taking place in the Hamilton area in January. If you are interested in registering your school please RSVP as soon as possible.
