Based
on the successful Sportshall Athletics concept, the
Highland Games has been developed as a fun and exciting
introduction to Celtic competition for children between
the ages of 8 and 13.
Joining George Bunner and the
development team for this project were Graeme and Vicci
Allan who have been regulars of many of Highland Games
events both in Scotland and overseas for some time.
Graeme and Vicci have been asked many times to provide
events for the local children and the Eveque Highland
Games has been created in response to those requests.

Team Competition
This
junior version of the Highland Games can be organised
as a team competition using the flow rotation system.
The circuit is normally designed to include at least
the same number of activities as the number of
teams participating.
From experience, we know that
with eight members per team the activities at each
station of the rotation can
be completed comfortably within ten minutes, thus giving
a total time for eight events of 1 hour 20 minutes.
This is a reasonable guide which organisers can adjust
according to the number of participants involved and
activities included.
To start the rotation each team
is allocated a different starting position and all
the teams move around the activities in sequence.
